Unexplained minor blast at Japanese regional airport

A rural airport in Japan grounded all flights on Wednesday after a little unexplained explosion that was shown in footage on local television.

On the southern island of Kyushu, at the Miyazaki airport, there were no reports of injuries.

The explosion seemed to have occurred at least 109 yards (or 100 meters) from the terminal structure.

An airport representative told AFP that flights were canceled until the evening and that a portion of a taxiway had collapsed, without providing any other information.
Takehiro Maeda, the official, stated that the fire department and police were conducting an investigation.
