India to be asked for Hasina’s extradition once trial begins: Law Adviser

Dr. Asif Nazrul, the adviser on law, justice, and parliamentary affairs, stated today that the interim government would request that India extradite Sheikh Hasina, the prime minister, as soon as the mass killing trial gets underway.

At this evening’s Foreign Service Academy news conference, he made the remark.

“Bangladesh and India have an extradition treaty, which allows us to request the extradition of any convicted person, including former prime ministers,” he stated.

According to Asif Nazrul, the law ministry will shortly brief the media on the actions taken by the interim administration to guarantee justice in cases of mass murder and crimes against humanity committed during the student-people movement.

According to him, the government has already made some moves and there have been noticeable advancements. In order to facilitate the trial, an investigation team has been established, and preparations are being made to reconstitute the court.

The legal advisor declared, “Once the trial starts, we will definitely seek Sheikh Hasina’s extradition.”
