Tigers dismissed for 565, earn 117-run lead in 1st Test

In the first innings of the first Test match in the two-match series against Pakistan, Bangladesh was bowled out for 565, giving them a lead of 117 runs at Rawalpindi today.

The total surpasses the previous mark of 555-6 at Khulna in 2015 and is Bangladesh’s highest against Pakistan as well as its third-most in a Test innings.

Pakistan declared their first innings at 448-6, courtesy a career-best 171 from Mohammad Rizwan and 141 from Saud Shakeel.

With a massive 191, veteran campaigner Mushfiqur Rahim led Bangladesh’s run-fest in an unresponsive pitch. Shadman Islam, the opener, was seven runs short of his second Test century while Mushfiqur failed to score his fourth double century.

Shadman scored ninety-three. Mominul Haque chipped in with 50, Liton Das added 56, and Mehidy Hasan Miraz scored 77.

According to Naseem Shah, 3-93. Mohammad Ali, Khurram Shahzad, and Shaheen Shah Afridi each claimed two wickets.
