Bangladesh offers humanitarian support to Kuwait 

Bangladesh’s willingness to provide Kuwait with humanitarian aid when necessary has been communicated by State Minister for Foreign Affairs Shama Obaed Islam, reiterating solidarity in the face of the changing Middle East situation.

According to a news release from the foreign ministry, the assurance was made during a meeting with Ali Thunayun Abdulwahab Hamadah, the Kuwaiti ambassador to Bangladesh, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs here today.

The state minister commended Kuwait during the meeting for guaranteeing the security and safety of almost 300,000 Bangladeshi expats residing in the Gulf nation.

Bangladesh’s early demonstration of unity and facilitation of high-level communication between the two nations were appreciated by the ambassador.

The State Minister reaffirmed Bangladesh’s support for non-interference and diplomatic means of resolving disputes.

Strengthening trade and investment cooperation was emphasized by both parties, especially in the energy, infrastructure, ICT, and halal food sectors. Bangladesh invited Kuwaiti companies to investigate prospects in Special Economic Zones and Hi-Tech Parks.

The State Minister expressed gratitude for Kuwait’s ongoing support of the Rohingya humanitarian response, while the Kuwaiti ambassador recognized Bangladesh’s cooperation in global forums, such as the UN and OIC.

They also stressed the importance of high-level visits and regular bilateral engagements to further deepen cooperation.
