Md. Touhid Hossain, adviser on foreign affairs, gave Bangladesh’s assurance today that it would keep working with the Russian Federation on projects of shared interest.
He gave the guarantee at his foreign ministry office in the capital during a courtesy call from Alexander Mantytskiy, the Russian ambassador to Bangladesh.
The foreign adviser stated during the meeting that Dhaka is eager to maintain its cooperation with Russia, specifically in the establishment of the Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant Project, as well as in the active cooperation in the trade sector and gas areas.Hossain also recalled the support of the Russian Federation during the Bangladesh’s War of Liberation. At the outset of the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated Hossain on his assumption of Office as the Foreign Affairs Adviser of Bangladesh and expressed hope that Bangladesh-Russia bilateral cooperation will further enhance during his tenure. Additionally, he gave the Foreign Affairs Advisor a congratulations note from Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
The Russian foreign minister expressed gratitude to Bangladesh’s foreign office and expressed Moscow’s anticipation of continued fruitful collaboration to advance bilateral cooperation across all fronts.
“The Russia-Bangladesh relations are based on the solid foundation of friendship, traditionally binding the peoples of our countries,” Lavrov in a congratulatory message to Hossain.
