New York Times editorial board calls on Biden to leave race

The New York Times, the most powerful newspaper in America, demanded in an editorial on Friday that President Joe Biden resign in order to make room for another Democrat to run against Donald Trump in November.

Referred to as “the shadow of a great public servant,” the editorial board of the newspaper—a division distinct from its newsroom—stated that the president and Trump’s debate on Thursday demonstrated that the 81-year-old had “failed his own test.”

The statement went on to say that Biden’s resolve to run for office again is a “reckless gamble” and that the best public service he can currently undertake is to declare that he will not be seeking reelection.
