Five dead, dozens hurt in wildfires in southeastern Turkey: minister

The health minister announced on Friday that wildfires that rushed across many towns in southeast Turkey overnight resulted in five fatalities and dozens of injuries, ten of them critical.

Health Minister Fahrettin Koca posted on X, formerly Twitter, that “44 people were injured, 10 seriously,” and that “five people died” as a result of the fire that spread over two neighborhoods close to the southeast city of Mardin.
