A significant “Health & Wellness Campaign” for its Ready-Made Garment (RMG) workers of GIANT Textile LTD has proudly concluded
The four-day event, which took place from June 4th to June 7th, 2024, was part of the comprehensive “Mitigating the Spread of COVID-19 Among Garment Factory and Textile Mill Populations in Bangladesh (Phase II: Translating Results into Sustained Sector Practice)” Project. It successfully served over 650 workers, providing essential health check-ups and consultations with doctors.
A team of dedicated medical professionals, including doctors and registered nurses from AYAT College of Nursing & Health Sciences (ACNHS), alongside staff from AYAT Education and GIANT Textiles, facilitated the campaign. The project field team played a crucial role in recording data and ensuring that cases requiring immediate attention were promptly forwarded to the doctors for professional consultations.
The initiative underscores the importance of health and wellness programs in the textile and RMG sectors, which are vital to the backbone of Bangladesh’s burgeoning economy. By empowering workers with access to healthcare, GIANT Textile LTD demonstrates its dedication to the well-being of its employees.
The closing ceremony was graced by the presence of GIANT Group’s General Manager, Welfare Officer, HR & Compliance Officer, who expressed their heartfelt appreciation for the campaign’s impact. Program Director Laila Karim also attended the final day, witnessing the collective efforts that made the campaign a success.
Organizers extend their gratitude to all partners, supporters, and the devoted medical professionals whose contributions have been invaluable in enhancing the health and well-being of the industry’s dedicated workers.
This campaign is a testament to the collaborative spirit and the shared goal of creating a healthier work environment for all.
