“Mobile Mania 2024 Powered by Airtel,” is launched by Airtel and Discovery One

With the opening of “Mobile Mania 2024 Powered by Airtel,” the largest mobile gaming competition in Bangladesh to date, a new age in mobile gaming is about to begin. This competition is being organized by Discovery One Ltd., the top esports platform in the nation, in collaboration with Robi Axiata’s Airtel brand.

At a ceremony on Sunday, May 5, at the capital city’s Aloki Convention Centre, the news was made. An astounding Tk 30 lakh in prizes is promised for the tournament.

Shihab Ahmad, the Chief Commercial Officer of Robi, was present at the scheduled press conference to inform gamers nationwide of this great news. The event’s welcome speech was given by Discovery One’s managing director and co-founder, Shadab Hossain.

Popular titles including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, Call of Duty: Mobile, and eFootball will be featured in the competition. Participants will go through the quarterfinals, semifinals, and online qualifiers before the top two teams square off in the July Grand Finale at the International Convention City Bashundhara.

Airtel, the lead partner, also mentioned that they were thrilled to showcase the ONMO cloud gaming platform, which has revolutionised mobile gaming with cloud technology. Currently, ONMO features popular games such as Subway Surfers, Cut the Rope Magic, and Rayman Jungle Run.

Commenting on the occasion, Robi Axiata Ltd.’s Chief Commercial Officer, Shihab Ahmad said, `Airtel continues to cater to the youth of Bangladesh, supporting their interests in music, entertainment, and gaming. With over 60 lakh gamers advancing in e-sports, Airtel has launched platforms like ‘Engage’, where gamers keep busy with popular games while top gamers showcase their strategies live on Airtel Buzz.’

Speaking about the upcoming event, Shadab Hossain, co-founder of Discovery One Ltd., said, “We are very optimistic about the upcoming event. In the last two years, we have organized 3 of the biggest esports tournaments in Bangladesh, D1 Cup Season 1 and 2 and FIFA Royale 2023. In just two years, a global brand such as Airtel has joined our mission. We hope more companies can see the vision like Airtel has. In the near future, we hope to bring the international esports competitions to Bangladesh and definitely take Bangladeshi esports talents global. We hope to collaborate with our partner brands to promote development in this field and contribute to the advancement of gamers.”
