Three central US states were blasted by devastating storms on Thursday night, which resulted in several large tornadoes, one of which struck a trailer park in Indiana and killed three people, according to US media.
The National Weather Service (NWS) said that there were tornado watches in effect for about 13 million people in the central United States.
The NWS reported that a “very dangerous half-mile-wide tornado” made landfall in Ohio state.
One hit Indian Lakes, a little rural hamlet in western Ohio.
“It’s pure devastation. I have never seen anything like this in my entire life,” Amber Fagan, president of the Indian Lakes Chamber of Commerce, told a Columbus ABC television station.
“Downtown, it’s bad. It’s very bad.”
The ABC and NBC news networks claimed, citing state police, that a probable tornado struck a mobile home park in Winchester, Indiana, resulting in the deaths of three individuals.
As the storms moved throughout the Ohio Valley, they seemed to be tornadoes in several places.
On social media, Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reported that a tornado passed near Trimble and Gallatin in his state, but no one was killed.
In the United States, especially in the central and southern regions, tornadoes are a quite common meteorological occurrence that is both spectacular and unpredictable.
