The late opposition leader Alexei Navalny’s spokeswoman claimed on Monday that Russian authorities had informed both his attorneys and mother that the probe into his death in custody “has been extended.”
“The duration of this situation is unknown. The reason for the demise remains “undetermined.” The spokesperson, Kira Yarmysh, stated on X that “They’re lying, playing for time, and do not even hide it.”
In an impassioned video speech on Monday, the widow of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny pledged to carry on his work and urged his fans to support her.
“I will continue the work for Alexei Navalny. I will continue to fight for the freedom of our country,” Yulia Navalnaya said in the video, three days after his death in an Arctic prison colony. “And I call on you to stand by me.”
