The most recent figures from the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS) show that while non-food inflation marginally increased over this time, the country’s overall food inflation rate fell below 10% in December of last year.
The total rate of inflation decreased to 9.41 percent in December of last year, according to data from the Bureau of Statistics. It was 9.93 percent in October and 9.49 percent in November of the previous year. The overall rate of inflation in December was 9.15% in the city and 9.48% in the rural areas.
Food inflation in the nation decreased from 10.76 percent in November of last year to 9.58 percent in December, according to BBS. In October of last year, food inflation reached a 12-year high of 12.56 percent.
In December of last year, food inflation was 9.46 percent in the city and 9.66 percent in the rural districts.
From 8.16 percent in November of last year to 8.52 percent in December, the overall non-food inflation increased. Based on BBS data, non-food inflation was 8.41% in rural regions and 8.39% in urban areas.
