Nissan hit by ‘cyber incident’ in Australia, New Zealand

Nissan, a major Japanese automaker, informed customers on Thursday that a “cyber incident” had affected its operations in Australia and New Zealand.

Nissan said that while its worldwide response team evaluated the extent of the incident, it had contacted the government cyber security centers in both countries.

The business stated in a statement that it was unclear if any personal data had been accessed.

“While the extent of the incident is still under investigation, Nissan encourages its customers to be vigilant across their accounts, including looking out for any unusual or scam activities,” the statement added.

The incident had not so far affected its dealer network, Nissan said, adding that it was working to restore its systems.
