“BSRM Rod Master” training course was held for rebar workers in Rangpur

‘BSRM’ routinely hosts specialized training workshops for rebar workers at the nation’s general level in an effort to increase efficiency in the workplace. One such session was held in Rangpur from October 14 to October 16, 2023. The three-day-long event is known as the “BSRM Rod Master” workshop. In this phase of the workshop, BSRM has planned to organize two Rod Master trainings in the Rangpur area this financial year.

This recently organized event is the first workshop in the Rangpur region this financial year. It was the first workshop among two planned back-to-back workshops organized with bar binders working in Rangpur. Other one will be organized in Rangpur tomorrow. In the initial batch, about 25 people came to the program. The next one is to start tomorrow (October 17) with additional 25 participants.

BSRM, one of the largest rebar manufacturing companies in Bangladesh, has started this event to make local-level working rod masters more proficient in their work and to impart all modern technology information to them. HBRC was responsible for conducting the training and workshops. USEP Bangladesh provided logistical support for this program.

This training can play an effective role in helping the government achieve its goals of economic growth, social development, and ultimately the development of the country by providing skilled people for employment in the labor market of Bangladesh.

The key topics covered in this session are bar-banding’s fundamental knowledge and abilities. At the same time, this module talks about team building, workplace accidents, safety measures, and first aid.

After the end of this workshop, along with the certificate, BSRM gifted a full set of construction-based PPE sets to all the participants. The participants expressed hope that the working methods learned from this workshop will help them a lot in their future work.

500 rebar binder workers are expected to receive proper job training from BSRM through this program this fiscal year. 250 rebar binders were trained through this training program in the most recent fiscal year.
