According to Taiwan’s defense ministry on Wednesday, China conducted military drills for a second day, deploying naval ships and a sizable number of aircraft, including fighter jets and bombers, toward the island.
Taiwan had discovered 30 Chinese aircraft over the water at 7 a.m. local time (2300 GMT), including J-10 and J-16 fighters. 23 aircraft flew over the Taiwan Strait’s midline, which serves as a security buffer zone, on Wednesday.
When 32 Chinese air force aircraft crossed the border on Tuesday, similar military activity by China was observed in the same region. Four nuclear-capable H-6 bombers took part in the exercise and they flew to the south of Taiwan.
In order to conduct cooperative training to the south of Taiwan, Chinese aircraft flew in tandem with its warships, and four of them were involved in “combat readiness patrols,” according to the ministry.
