As a symbolic reaction to Moscow’s Victory Day parade, EU leader Ursula von der Leyen arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday to observe Europe Day of peace and togetherness.
According to a train reporter, the head of the European Commission traveled overnight from Poland to see head Volodymyr Zelensky and work on Ukraine’s potential EU membership.
The Ukrainian president has declared that May 9 will be commemorated in his country as Europe Day, as it is in Brussels, rejecting the old Soviet Union’s martial Victory Day tradition.
