As the first step in launching the future of connectivity in Bangladesh, Grameenphone (GP) has finished testing its 5G network in Dhaka and Chattogram.
According to a press release, GP Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Yasir Azman and GP Management participated in the trial at GP House’s innovation lab.
The 5G application cases will be tested and experienced in the innovation lab throughout time. The business also plans to test 5G very soon in the remaining divisional cities.
“We are trialing for 5G connectivity and using cases to unleash the potential of 4IR in pursuit of a Smart-Bangladesh,” said Yarsir Azman.
In order to make 5G possible, GP praised the government, regulator, network partners, eco-system actors, and its teams.
We anticipate more collaboration and dialogue in creating workable use cases and addressing 5G problems, according to GP CEO.
“We are also committed to building future capabilities, developing a 5G eco-system and bringing in industrial solutions through Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Blockchain and Robotics,” he added.
The ground-breaking 5G technology opens up previously unimaginable possibilities for industrial applications, developing society and significantly improving day-to-day experiences to create a brighter, safer, and more sustainable future.
In collaboration with Huawei and ZTE, Grameenphone is acting as a digital enabler, opening up new opportunities and hastening the digital transformation in Bangladesh.
