According to Ukrainian rescue services, at least 13 people were killed on Monday when shelling damaged an industrial bakery in Makariv, around 50 kilometers west of Ukraine’s capital Kyiv.
Around 30 people were in the bakery area at the time of the shelling, according to rescuers who put a message on Telegram. The message was quickly erased, with no further information offered.
According to reports, Russia has asked for a cease-fire in Ukraine on Tuesday at 10 a.m. local time to allow Ukrainians in particular cities to flee.
This might signify either an olive gesture from Russia’s powerful military or a barrage of severe shelling.
According to the Associated Press, Russian U.N. Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia informed the Security Council of the cease-fire.
Humanitarian routes could be seen moving away from Kyiv, Mariupol, Sumy, and Chernigov, according to Nebenzia, in whatever direction the evacuees wanted to go.
According to a United Nations study, more than 1.7 million people have already fled Ukraine, with more than 400 civilian casualties. The death toll, though, could be far higher.
