Sir Paul McCartney said on Friday that he will embark on a 14-city US concert tour in the Pacific Northwest this spring, marking his first set of live performances since wrapping up a world tour in 2019.
According to the tour schedule announced on his official website, the “Got Back” tour will kick off on April 28 in Spokane, Washington, with McCartney’s first gig there, followed by back-to-back shows at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle on May 2-3.
Over the next six weeks, the tour will visit 11 additional US cities before closing on June 16 at Met Life Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, two days before McCartney’s 80th birthday.
As recording stars begin to return to live performances after a two-year sabbatical caused by the Covid-19 epidemic, the McCartney appearance is guaranteed to be a highlight of the 2022 spring and summer arena music scene.
In his 1960s Beatles partnership with the late John Lennon, McCartney is largely regarded as one of the best composers of the twentieth century.
He last performed live in July 2019 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as part of a 39-city world tour that ended with a sold-out show.
