Sandhya Mukherjee, a legendary Indian singer, has passed away. On Tuesday, she passed away at a Kolkata hospital. She was 90 years old.
On January 27, the Padma Shri awardee was admitted to the hospital. Her lung was infected, according to doctors.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her shock and sadness at the loss of the great musician, according to BSS.
In a condolence statement, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remarked that, in addition to spreading music’s allure across the subcontinent, Sandhya Mukherjee’s contribution to the Great Liberation War will be remembered.
She also expressed her condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the soul’s salvation.
