According to a legal source, an Egyptian court sentenced ten members of the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood party found guilty of terror-related crimes to death on Sunday.
Before the court meets on June 19 to ratify the penalties, the judgment will be referred to Egypt’s top theological authority, the Grand Mufti, as a formality in death penalty cases.
The AFP news agency quoted a judicial source as stating on Sunday that nine people were in jail and one was condemned in absentia.
