Celine Dion, a Quebec native, said on Saturday that she will be unable to perform the North American leg of her “Courage world tour” due to ongoing health issues.
“I was really hoping that I’d be good to go by now, but I suppose I just have to be more patient,” the singer wrote on Twitter.
Following a hiatus caused by the pandemic, Dion was set to restart her world tour in November 2021, with a series of shows in Las Vegas.
Those dates were canceled in October when she started “experiencing painful and chronic muscle spasms,” as she stated on Twitter at the time.
The singer had wanted to resume the tour in March, beginning in Denver and moving to 15 more cities across the United States and Canada over the course of two months.
Due to “her rehabilitation taking longer than she intended,” Dion’s management noted in a press release that accompanied her tweet, those dates have also been canceled.
Dion had done 52 gigs as part of her Courage World Tour before the epidemic, according to the statement, and she still plans to start the European leg on May 25 in Birmingham, England.
“I’ll be so glad to get back to full health, as well as all of us getting past this pandemic,” said the star, thanking her fans for their support.
“I feel your love and support and it means the world to me.
