The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved the draft “Export Policy 2021-2024” today, establishing an export target of $80 billion for FY2024.
The decision came from the CCEA’s first meeting of the year, which was held virtually and presided over by Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal.
After the meeting, Kamal briefed media remotely, saying that Bangladesh’s current export target is $60 billion.
“All exporters will get uniformed facilities under the export policy. Besides we will provide policy support regarding challenges over Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR),” he said.
To meet the goal, he stated that the government will focus on recycling, research, and development.
In response to a query, Kamal stated that Bangladesh will never slip into the middle-income trap because the country’s own resources and funds are being used to develop the country.
