At a Punjab University, a Bangabandhu Corner would be established.

A Bangabandhu Corner will be established at Punjab’s “Lovely Professional University,” one of India’s major private universities with roughly 35,000 students.

Chancellor of the University Ashok Mittal and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran met to make the decision during the Bangladesh envoy’s recent visit to the university.

According to a statement issued today by the Bangladesh embassy in New Delhi, the decision was taken to commemorate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation.

The university officials have agreed that the Bangabandhu Corner will be gradually developed into a center.

Lovely Professional University boasts nearly 3,000 international students from over 50 nations on its 600-acre campus.

In terms of sports and athletics, the university is a leader. The university has eleven students competing in the Tokyo Olympics.

Around 750 Bangladeshi students attend the university, which is the largest number of Bangladeshi students on a single campus outside of Bangladesh.

The Bangladesh envoy engaged with Bangladeshi students and inquired about their well-being during his visit to the university campus.

A life-size painting of Bangabandhu will be displayed in the Bangabandhu Corner, along with copies of the ‘Unfinished Memoirs’ and ‘Prison Diaries,’ as well as other works on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh’s history, culture, and socio-economic growth.

Audio-visual platforms for information sharing on Bangabandhu and Bangladesh will also be available.
