Chorki, the much-anticipated Bangladeshi streaming platform, will launch today, July 12. The site has a sizable library of more than 200 films, episodes, and documentaries.
Chorki was created with the goal of making local content more accessible and resistant to piracy, as well as providing filmmakers and fans greater control.
The pandemic has wreaked havoc on theatres all across the world. As a result, video streaming platforms have developed as a timely antidote to the film industry’s demise. Chorki, in a similar spirit, is attempting to bring attention to our local tales and carve out a niche for ourselves in the rapidly expanding streaming media.
The portal offers a variety of economical subscription options, including a 50 taka one-month subscription. To check out the platform’s library, go to Chorki’s official website or download the free app from the Playstore.
When the platform announced that it will release one original film per month, it grabbed headlines.
On the night of Eid-ul-Azha, director Adnan Al Rajeev’s web film “Youtumer,” starring Pritom Hasan and Ziaul Hoque Polash in lead roles, will be available to stream.
On the first day of Eid, the anthology series “Unoloukik,” starring Asaduzzaman Noor, Chanchal Chowdhury, Nusrat Imrose Tisha, Gazi Rakayet, Iresh Zaker, Rafiath Rashid Mithila, and others, will also premiere.
Chorki will also premiere Amitabh Reza’s “Munshigiri” and Kamar Ahmed Simon’s “Neel Mukut.” Chorki also provides access to old Bangla films and TV serials, in addition to original content.
