Serum will produce vaccines outside the country to alleviate the crisis

The Serum Institute of India has decided to produce the vaccine outside the country to overcome the corona vaccine crisis. The company’s executive officer Adar Punawala told the media on Friday (April 30).

He said that they are struggling to provide vaccines as per the demand across the country. Ticker production needs to be increased. As a result, it is being considered to produce vaccines outside the country. An announcement will be made by Serum in the next few days.

Earlier last week, serum executive Ginger Punawala said they were working towards a target of 100 million doses a month by July. However, he later said that efforts were being made to meet that target by May. Serum has set a target to increase the annual production level from 25 crores to 30 crores within the next six months.

The government and the Ministry of Health are giving importance to vaccination to prevent infection. Vaccination of people above 18 years of age is starting in the third phase across the country from Saturday. However, even after the announcement from the center, several states have not been able to start vaccination from today. Because they don’t have enough vaccines yet. This is why increasing the production of vaccines has become more important.

Meanwhile, India is now in the throes of a second wave of global coronavirus epidemics. In almost all the states of this populous country, people are now crying out for help. Every day in the country, patients infected with the virus are being identified and deaths are being recorded.
