The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has exempted value-added tax (including withholding VAT) on fees for coronavirus vaccine, post-import storage, marketing, transportation, distribution, and immunization programs, reports Media.
The information was revealed in an order signed by Kazi Farid Uddin, the first secretary of the National Board of Revenue (VAT) on Wednesday (March 3).
Earlier on February 18, the government had decided to withdraw the advance income tax or AIT applicable to the import of any type of vaccine in another NBR order.
According to the order, the government has taken various measures to curb the outbreak of COVID-19. The global epidemic in Macabella has already been exempted from importing, producing, and trading in various anti-cancer products as well as the COVID-19 vaccine.
The conditions include: This exemption will be applicable only for the supply of Covid-19 immunization to the Government of Bangladesh and all accounts receivable for the supply of Covid-19 immunization vaccine must be notified to the relevant Value Added Commissionerate within ten working days of receipt.
To prevent coronavirus, the government is providing free vaccinations to people across the country. For this huge amount of vaccine has to be imported from abroad.
