King Philip the VI of Spain is in quarantine. He came in contact with a person who was later diagnosed with the coronavirus.
A statement from the palace on Monday said he had been in contact with a man identified as COVID-19 yesterday. The 52-year-old king will abstain from all government activities for the next 10 days, the statement said.
It also said that from now on, he will be under preventive 10-day quarantine in compliance with health rules.
Queen Letizia and the couple’s two daughters, Leonor and Sophia, will probably continue their normal work.
Spain is one of the most affected countries in the world. More than 1.5 million people in the country have been affected by corona and more than 43,000 have died so far.
