Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan has returned to the top of the all-rounders’ rankings in the ODI rankings after returning from the ban. The International Cricket Council (ICC), the governing body of cricket, today released the latest ranking list.
Shakib was banned from all forms of cricket for a year after the information about the match-fixing offer was withheld. His ban ended on October 28.
Shakib is currently in the United States. He is expected to return to Bangladesh tomorrow. He will return to competitive cricket with the Bangabandhu T20 tournament starting on November 23.
His name was removed from the rankings after he was banned from cricket. However, after the end of the ban, Shakib’s name has been included in the ranking list again. At the same time, Shakib got back the top position in the rankings.
Shakib, the best player in Bangladesh, has returned to the top of the ranking with 373 ratings. Mohammad Nabi of Afghanistan is in second place with 301 ratings.
World cricket has been closed since March due to COVID-19. This corona basically comes as a blessing for Shakib. International cricket was not played much because of Corona during the ban. As a result, the cricketers did not get a chance to rise to the top by removing Shakib from the rankings.
