The Serie A club has confirmed in a statement that Antonio Conte will remain as Inter Milan’s coach next season. Conte’s future was into doubt after his side lost to Sevilla in the Europa League final last week.
Conte’s anger over some issues in the first term led to a dispute with some senior members of the club. But they lost to Sevilla in the Europa League on Friday after losing the Serie A title just one point behind Juventus under revived Interconte.
“There have been constructive discussions between the club and Antonio,” Inter stated in a statement. The two sides agreed to work together, and the issue of how to move the club forward better was also seriously discussed.
The 52-year-old former Italian national team coach joined Inter after winning three Serie A titles for Juventus and a Premier League title for Chelsea.
