The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is considering a tour of Sri Lanka for the High Performance (HP) team to bring cricketers back to the game during the Corona epidemic.
According to the board, HP activities play an important role in preparing players for the national team. That is why the BCB wants to start the camp as soon as possible. However, MP Naimur Rahman Durjoy, chairman of the HP program, said they could also hold a training camp in Sri Lanka.
Durjoy made the remarks after a meeting of the High-Performance Unit at the BCB headquarters on Wednesday. The meeting discussed the upcoming tour and the start of HP activities. In a video message from the BCB, the former national team captain and BCB director said, “We want to restart the HP program and its upcoming tours.
Since we want to go on a tour of Sri Lanka, we have to be prepared. We have to be prepared in advance. The series could be held in Sri Lanka or here. We have discussed this and also talked to the Sri Lankan Cricket Board. We wanted to know how to organize the tour. ‘
Durjoy also said that he is trying to get a coach for the HP team as soon as possible. The post of HP coach is currently vacant after Simon Helmot resigned following a three-year contract ending in December. Durjoy also said that contact is being maintained with the shortlisted coaches.
