The Dhaka Premier League (DPL), the country’s most coveted 50-over cricket tournament, will not resume very soon even though the government has uplifted the countrywide shutdown over the Covid-19 outbreak.
The List A tournament has been suspended for an indefinite period after the first round in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in the country.
The Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropolis, the guardian of Dhaka’s clubs, made it clear that the resumption of the cricket will entirely depend on the government’s decision, who earlier determined to stop all kinds of sporting activities in the country due to the pandemic.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) offices, however, will reopen tomorrow on a limited scale in line with the government’s guidelines.
But the resumption of DPL won’t be as early as they hope, said some club officials.
