Doctor Zafrullah Chowdhury, a trustee of the Gonoshasthaya Kendra, said he had effected with coronavirus. On Monday night, he said, was tested with the GR COVID 19 Rapid dot blot kit, and found out about the infection. The kit was invented by Gonoshasthaya Kendra.
Zafrullah Chowdhury said, “I found out yesterday evening. We tested in our Gonoshasthaya Kendra. Antigen positive, very early stage. Yesterday the temperature was a little high and I had a cough so I checked. But however I am just fine. If I didn’t know yesterday, I would be affected a lot of people today. The advantage of this is that it is known quickly.”
He said he would stay in isolation at home as he did not feel any other problem physically.
The Gonoshasthaya Kendra developed the Rapid Testing Kit to detect coronavirus. BSMMU is testing the effectiveness of this kit. On May 13, Gonoshasthaya Kendra handed over 200 kits to BSMMU for the examination of its effectiveness.
However, the public health center has not been informed about the effectiveness of the kit so far, the organization said.
