About half of Chile’s 50 senators and four ministers are in quarantine after at least three senators were infected with the coronavirus, Officials said on Monday.
Finance Minister Ignacio Baroness and Chief of Staff Philip Ward both said on Twitter that their corona was negative in the Tests, but that they would remain in quarantine until the second Test. The Home Minister and the Social Development Minister are also in isolation.
About 20 senators began isolation last weekend after Pizarro and another affected senator came into contact because of the meeting.
Despite preventive measures, including specific lockdowns, over the past month and a half, corona infections have been on the rise in the country.
At the same time in chili unemployed people clashed with police in Santiago’s poorest areas on Friday.
