Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has inaugurated a program to distribute financial assistance to 5 million affected families through mobile banking. Every family will get 2500 BDT. PM inaugurated the program through a video conference from Ganobhaban.
Among 5 million families through Bkash 1.5 million distressed families going to get this financial aid is before the holy Eid. During Ramadan and Eid, this money will provide some relief and help the distressed family in case of an emergency.
There is no cost to the beneficiary in case of a cashout of this government assistance. The government will pay 15 BDT for the total cashout cost and the remaining 31.25 BDT will be carried by Bikash from being involved in this great initiative.
Through NID verification, Bikash has ensured that financial assistance reaches the right family. All arrangements have been made so that the family members who have received help can withdraw this money without any hindrance.
In her inaugural address, the Prime Minister said this is the benefit of Digital Bangladesh. You don’t have to take money in hand, you don’t have to beg for money to anyone, you don’t have to ask for money to anyone. The money will reach directly through mobile banking.
Kamal Qadir, Chief Executive Officer of bKash, said, “Thanks to the far-sighted steps taken by the Bangladesh government to build a digital Bangladesh, it has been possible to easily reach out to marginalized people even in today’s epidemic situation. Bikas is proud to be involved in these activities.”
