FIFA asked Switzerland’s Office of the Attorney General (OAG) to continue its inquiry into former FIFA president Sepp Blatter, FIFA Stated.
French newspaper Le Monde and German daily Suddeutsche Zeitung demanded earlier this month Sepp Blatter won’t be prosecuted over a charge regarding TV rights sold to the Caribbean Football Union (CFU).
That was one among two criminal proceedings opened against Blatter in 2015 for “suspicion of unfair management and breach of trust”.
FIFA stated in a release, “We have filed official submissions with the OAG arguing strongly that the investigation is continued,”.
“Indeed, FIFA will consider all legal options to make sure that the relevant people are held to account,” it added, strengthening the media releases.
Last Wednesday, news agency AFP got a police report showing doubts of impropriety against Blatter over a controversial deal “were well-founded” despite Swiss prosecutors dropping the case.
