Given this, Grameenphone organized the ‘Quarter Marathon and Walkathon 2020′ on March 6 in Dhaka.
Syed Tanvir Husain, Chief Human Resources Officer, Grameenphone, commented, “Over more than 22 years as a connectivity partner of Bangladesh, we pursued our efforts to serve our customers’ needs with innovative solutions. This contribution trajectory instills an even greater sense of responsibility to serve our customers in the coming days. We felt the physical and mental well-being of our employees is a must in reaching that ambition. This Marathon and Walkathon is a few of many efforts to that series of activities that we are doing for our employees to ensure future-fit Grameenphone.”
He also added this particular initiative would provide Grameenphone employees with the opportunity to challenge their physical fitness and rediscover their mental endurance to adapt to the fast and ever-changing business dynamics.
With the theme “Fitness matters most,” Grameenphone initiated a Quarter Marathon and Walkathon for the employees. Over 300 employees around Dhaka city participated in the marathon in three categories: 3.5 km, 5 km, and 10 km. The marathon run began from Bashundhara 100ft gate at 6:00 am.
Moreover, Grameenphone actively encourages gender diversity at work. Grameenphone is one of the first corporate bodies in Bangladesh to introduce a full facility daycare “Happy Hearts” started its journey in 2006. Indoor fitness center, futsal playground, indoor games facilities are also mention-worthy when it comes to employee well-being at the workplace.
