JCI Dhaka Central distributed essential lifesaving medications and other medical supplies for the only 24/7 Union Health and Family Welfare Center in Nijhum Dwip on September 8th in a formal handover ceremony held in Save the Children Noakhali project office, says a press release.
Mr. Abu Taleb Siddique, Chairperson – Bangladesh Development Council, JCI Bangladesh, Ms. Mehzabeen Aziz, Special Assistant to National President, JCI Bangladesh, Mr. G. S. Ashiqur Rahman, Bhuiyan, Local President, JCI Dhaka Central, Ms. Sabrina Sharmin, Executive Vice President, JCI Dhaka Central and Mr. Salahuddin, Deputy Program Director, Noakhali region, MaMoni – Maternal, Neonatal and Child Survival Project (MNCSP), Save the Children were present along with other board members of JCI Dhaka Central, project officials and other dignitaries.
JCI Dhaka Central has always been strongly passionate in implementing meaningful interventions creating positive impact in people’s lives. The 24/7 UH&FWC situated in Nijhum Dwip is the only health care facility available for more than 30,000 adolescents and pregnant women in the remote isolated island of Nijhum Dwip, situated in the Bay of Bengal at the southernmost part of Bangladesh.
The supplied medicines and medical supplies will play a crucial role in providing emergency health care services for the pregnant women and adolescents in the island.
