YFS Youth Forum 2019 was launched in Dhaka by SERAC-Bangladesh with the presence of Assistant Director (MCH Unit), Director General of Family Planning, Dr. Manjur Hossain, S M Shaikat, Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, youth advocates, medical students, and midwives in Dhaka on Tuesday, 27st August 2019.
The forum intends to create a scope as well as space for youth to make a bridge among the policymakers to revitalize public support through adolescent and youth-led advocacy on ensuring youth-friendly services to influence policymakers. The initiative was taken by Right Here Right Now Bangladesh.
Executive Director of SERAC-Bangladesh, SM Shaikat opened the platform for youth advocates officially and urged the Government to put more concentration on ensuring youth-friendly quality services. He also inspired the youth participants to be conscious of their rights and responsibilities.
Assistant Director (MCH Unit), DGFP, Dr. Manjur Hossain offered the youths and adolescents to work with them actively to assist the service providers for making the centers youth-friendly. He emphasized on educating youth and adolescents about family planning information through those youth-friendly centers.
Among others, SERAC-Bangladesh representatives Tasnia Ahmed, Rokonol Rabbi, Nusrat Sharmin Resma, Nazmul Hasan Oscar and others were also present.
