Bangladesh has become a full-fledged member of the prestigious international forum “WorldSkills” which works on the theme of Skills Development for the Youth.
Bangladesh became the 79th member of the forum when the recommendation of its board was ratified at the WorldSkills Conference 2018 that kicked off in Amsterdam, the Netherlands today.
Delegations from a total of 79 member countries of WorldSkills International are attending the assembly at its headquarters in Amsterdam. Bangladesh for the first time is participating in the WorldSkills General Assembly (GA).
A four-member high-level Bangladesh delegation led by Md Nojibur Rahman, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, is participating in the assembly.
Other members of the team include Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Skill Development Council (NSDC) A.B.M Khorshed Alam, Director Md Rezaul Karim and Deputy Director Kamruzzaman.
With the theme ‘Uniting for Youth: Building Networks for Innovative Skills Solutions’, the two-day general assembly will focus various issues on skills development for building the confidence of millions of young people, empowering communities and fuelling economies across the globe.
