Microsoft organizes seminar on Cyber Security and Trusted Technology for government officials in Bangladesh

The seminar was a part of Microsoft’s mission to empower public organization with information and techniques to secure critical information systems, infrastructure and help reduce malware and digital risks in the country.

Microsoft Bangladesh, in collaboration with Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the ministry of Ministry of Posts, Telecom and Information Technology, recently organized a seminar on Cyber Security and Trusted Technology.

The seminar was a part of Microsoft’s mission to empower public organization with information and techniques to secure critical information systems, infrastructure and help reduce malware and digital risks in the country. The seminar covered a broad range of areas including the cybercrime landscape of the present day and how using trusted and secure technology can help the government to secure its data.

Mustafa Jabbar, Minister of Posts, Telecommunications, and ICT, attended the seminar as chief guest, alongside special guest Parthapratim Deb, Additional Secretary of the ICT Division and Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Laos. The seminar was chaired by Tarique M Barkat Ullah, Director, Bangladesh Computer Council.

Alongside their march to digitalization, governments are equally prioritizing cybersecurity. Microsoft, as a global leader in data security and secure technology, aims to foster cybersecurity collaborations with the public-sector organizations in Bangladesh and build a trusted and secure computing environment, a critical enabler for the country’s digital transformation,” said Sonia Bashir Kabir, Managing Director of Microsoft Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Laos,

Three key issues have been prioritized in the seminar- Cyber Security and trusted technology; Software Asset Management & Cybersecurity engagement, which provides a comprehensive analysis of the cybersecurity infrastructure of organizations, including current software deployment, usage, and licensing models; Prescriptive guidance and best practices about cybersecurity in a digital world.
