Seedstars World, a global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets and fast-growing startup scenes, held its Asia Summit on November 29, 2017, at Bangkok.
The event highlighted top tech startups from 15 Asian countries to investors, ecosystem players, government, leading corporations and thought leaders from the region.
CMED Health Ltd. the winner of Seedstars Dhaka participated in the event along with the winners from India, Singapore, Thailand, Myanmar, the Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Vietnam.
Grameenphone CEO Michael Foley presented a keynote paper at the summit elaborating how working with the entrepreneurs can aid companies in establishing and driving their transformation initiatives successfully.
Speaking on the occasion GP CEO said that innovators and entrepreneurs are very important to Grameenphone and Telenor Group. They are an integral part of Digital ecosystem that the company is building to cater to an increasingly digitally inclined customer base. Supporting these startups will contribute to creating more jobs, technological advancement and developing the economy of the respective countries.
Grameenphone’s Head of Transformation Kazi Mahboob Hassan and Tina Jabeen, Co-project director, IDEA, ICT Division of Bangladesh Government also participated in the summit as mentors to the top 15 Asian startups.
Earlier this year Grameenphone Accelerator program collaborated with Seedstars to arrange the Seedstars Dhaka contest in Bangladesh. The program was hosted at GPHouse where CMED Health Ltd was selected to represent Bangladesh in the Seedstars Global Summit to be held at Switzerland.
