A freedom fighter has been killed in a crash between a truck and an autorickshaw in Chandpur’s Faridganj.
The accident occurred around 8:30pm on Sunday in the Upazila’s Gridkalandia area, said Faridganj Police Station OC Md Shah Alam.
The victim, 60-year-old Subhash Majumdar, was a resident of Barali village.
“He was taking an autorickshaw home from Faridganj town when it crashed into a truck in the Raipur area. Locals took him to Chandpur Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.”
Subhash Majumdar’s status as a freedom fighter was confirmed by former Faridganj Freedom Fighters Command Council Commander Abul Khaer Patwari.
