Finding somewhere to live in a big city is difficult, particularly if you don’t have a huge budget.
So what are you supposed to do when you’re a new graduate and find yourself needing a place to call your own in New York City?
Well, model good looks and sending the internet into a meltdown helps. And that’s exactly what happened to Rehan Munir from Pakistan.
The 26-year-old medical graduate was advised to post on the facebook page Gypsy Housing that he was looking for somewhere to live in New York.
“Hello everyone!” Munir wrote, explaining that he’s a 26-year-old doctor looking for a furnished room for a month and a half.
“I’m professional, friendly and easy to live with. Most of all, cleanliness is of utmost priority to me.”
He added a couple of photos to finish off his post, and it’s safe to say they went down favourably.
“I apologize if this is inappropriate, but umm..boyyyy you fine!!” wrote one woman.
“Marry me?” commented one person.
“He’s soooo HOT!!! Damn I wish I had a room to rent to him.. Lol” added another.
But some people pointed out that he was just looking for a place to live.
“Damn, y’all, you would be going crazy right now if this was a bunch of men talking this way about an attractive woman. Dude just wants an apartment,” wrote one”
“When did this become a dating app? I feel like half of y’all saw his photo and started swiping right based on habit,” added someone else.
Despite being a model, Munir wasn’t expecting to become an internet sensation.
“It was pretty overwhelming,” he told HuffPost.
“I wrote it and the next day I wake up and I see my post has been inundated with messages and it’s reached a number of blogs locally and internationally. I found it hilarious! The Internet is really an unpredictable place.”
Munir has modelled for Hush Puppies Pakistan, amongst others.
