The book market in Dhaka’s Nilkhet has caught fire.
Fire Service Headquarters duty officer Mizanur Rahman said that 10 firefighting units were sent to the location and brought the blaze under control at 8:45 pm.
Mohammad Al Amin, who owns a bookshop in the market, said the fire erupted at a warehouse of books on legal affairs on the first floor of Islamia Market section.
“The fire is not spreading much,” he said.
Booksellers at the market said they were not in fear of any large-scale damage as it was raining in the area.
