The Andheri Magistrate’s Court on Monday cancelled the arrest warrant that was issued against Sanjay Dutt in a criminal intimidation case.
The warrant was issued on Saturday after the actor, who was accused of threatening film producer Shakeel Noorani by using his alleged contacts in the underworld in 2013, failed to appear before court.
Dutt walked out of the court in 11 minutes flat. Noorani’s lawyer Neeraj Gupta, who is fighting the case along with Nisha Arora, said, “Dutt’s warrant has been cancelled. He also filed an application seeking permanent exemption from appearing before the court citing his busy schedule, but it was rejected. He was given a stern warning to attend every hearing henceforth, failing which another warrant would be issued against him.”
