Top 5 holiday drink recipes

News Hour:

There are a lot of holiday recipes gracing our Facebook walls these days. My favorite of all…the drink recipes. So here is a list of my top 5 favorite holiday drink recipes:

  1. Candy Cane Cocktail – Equal parts Vanilla Rum, white chocolate liqueur, and peppermint schnapps. Garnish with a peppermint stick and serve in a martini glass.
  2. Maple Butter Kiss – 1 1/2 oz Vodka, 1/2 oz butterscotch schnapps, 1/4 oz real maple syrup, 1 oz half and half. Garnish with fresh ground nutmeg and serve in a martini glass.

  1. Cider Jack – shake 2 oz applejack liqueur, 1 oz lemon juice & a splash of grenadine in a shaker with ice, strain into an old fashioned glass over ice and top with hard apple cider and garnish with a cinnamon stick.
  2. Peppermint Hot Chocolate – 1 1/2 oz. peppermint schnapps in your favorite hot chocolate…if you make your hot chocolate in a pan on the stove you’re a better person than I. Garnish with a candy cane and serve in a festive mug.
  3. Cranberry Mimosa – 1/3 cup cranberry juice, 1/3 cup orange juice, 1/2 cup champagne. Garnish with an orange slice.

You may have noticed that no eggnog made the list. How could I forget such an iconic holiday drink? I think eggnog is gross and I can’t think of a single person I see during the holidays that drinks it. I can see everyone getting down with the 5 on my list though.
