Perfect your pick-up
  • Double-check your pick-up location on the map in the Uber app before hitting the ‘Request’ button. Pinning your location properly will save both you AND the driver valuable time so you can get going sooner.
  • Please call the driver once he accepts the request. This call goes a long way in perfecting the pick-up experience for both you and the driver.
Rider etiquette

Don’t be that person. Respect your Uber.

  • Has your driver arrived? Don’t make your driver wait too long. Remember, drivers’ time is valuable too and they are more than happy to help you as soon as they accept your request.
  • How long can you make your driver wait? 5-10 minutes. Need him to stick around for longer? We recommend that you end this ride and request another one when you are ready to leave.
  • Be respectful of your drivers. Despite the dubious city traffic, they work hard to give you a 5-star service to get you to where you want to go.
  • Help keep your driver’s vehicle clean. Put yourself in the shoes of the next rider.
  • No drinking, eating, smoking or illegal substances in the car. Period. Be respectful of your driver’s wishes as it is their office you’re sitting in.

    • Rate your driver based on his performance and quality of service. If you have a question, write to us via the in-app HELP and we’ll be happy to review your fare!
  • Promo didn’t work or you took a ride on surge? Let us know, and we’ll look into it. Don’t rate the driver poorly though.
Waiting policy

Uber itself does not provide transportation services and is not a transportation carrier. We do not own cars, nor do we employ drivers. We strive to partner with the best available, local and licensed drivers who reflect Uber’s values of professionalism and courtesy. The drivers that use the Uber system are trying to maximize their profits and want to maximize their drive-time to boost their earnings. Making them wait for long periods makes the service less beneficial for them. We encourage drivers to wait for 10-15 minutes after arriving at the trip starting point and during the trip. This makes the whole system much more reliable for riders and drivers alike.

Cancellation fee

We currently don’t charge a cancellation fee. However, multiple cancellations by riders creates a dispiriting and frustrating experience for our partner-drivers and makes the system less efficient for other riders as well. When riders cancel frequently, drivers feel burnt and are less likely to accept pickups. This leads to drivers rejecting longer pickups or calling clients to make sure that they want a pickup.
