The recent Iberoamerican Conference on Radiation Protection in Medicine reviewed advances in the implementation of the Bonn Call for Action, identified problems, proposed solutions and suggested progress indicators. The conclusions of the conference will cWONCAontribute to strengthening regional cooperation and guide future work to improve radiation safety in health-care settings. The conference was held on 18–20 October 2016 in Madrid, Spain.
The World Organization of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians (WONCA) has approved a resolution expressing their commitment to work with WHO and other stakeholders to enhance the appropriateness of radiological examinations and to promote a better radiation protection culture among family doctors and health care professionals. The resolution was approved at the 21st World Conference of Family Doctors held from 2 to 6 November 2016 in in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. For more information clickhere.
