All-rounder Shakib Al Hasan become the first Bangladeshi to take 150 wickets in Test Cricket during the third day of Bangladesh-England first Test in Chittagong today.
In the England’s innings of this match, Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets for 46 runs in 19 overs including 6 maidens. He dismissed England captain Alastair Cook for 4 runs and then sent back Ben Stokes for 18. Before this match, he had 147 wickets in 42 Test matches for Bangladesh.
But today Shakib needed only one wicket to join 150th Tests wicket club. In the second ball of the ninth over in the England’s second innings, Joe Root (1) tried to sweep the ball, but he missed the complete straight delivery. He took the review as he was given out, but it didn’t work for him.
With this wicket, Shakib Al Hasan took his 150th wicket in Test career. Soon, he dismissed Ben Duckett (15) in the second ball of the 11th over. Duckett gloved on to the thigh pad and the short-leg fielder Mominul Haque took a simple catch just before the lunch.
